Audibles Free 14 Day Trial ~Free Audio Book~

SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON
READ BY: FREDERICK DAVIDSON

Does your family listen to books on audio? We do! Our all time favorite is SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON. The Disney movie was nothing compared to the unabridged book. The way this fictionary family loves the Lord and works together is so inspiring. They are the ultimate homeschooling, dominion taking, God honoring, courageous, storybook family that ever lived between the covers of a book. The only thing that could make this story even better is having it read to you by Frederick Davidson. He brings the story to life and takes you to the island, where you have first hand experiences right along with the family, including excerpts that are 'deliciously scary'.

We have always had to check this audio book out from the library, where it is on tape and not CD. But now we can buy this from Audibles for free! They have a 14 day free trial period and you receive 1 credit that can buy one download for free. If you cancel before your trial is up, you pay NOTHING! I tried this on a free trial but decided that for $14.95 there was another book I would like to have and so I decided to pay for the 1st month.

Audibles sent me an e-mail and has given me the opportunity to share with everyone else and I get a $10 credit in return for everyone that signs up for the free trial offer:) So if your interested, please leave your e-mail address or e-mail it to me at www.mail@rehobothfarm.com and I will send you the link to start your Summertime Adventures!

BTW, with my new credit I am going to buy ROBINSON CRUSOE read by, guess who, Frederick Davidson!

Summer in the South

Beautiful flowers, vegetables in the garden, bees buzzing by, ever so busy and children reading books during the heat of the day and running around everywhere in the evening. Thank you Lord for the Seasons!

Enjoying the Fall Harvest

Here is something else that's helping us with our grocery budget. Kevin is very supportive and is always pleased when he comes home to a table full of jars and a sticky floor. All of this was from 1 Bushel of Apples and a Basket of Concord Grapes.

He even bought me this to help my efforts. I sure did enjoy using it and had lots of offers of help!

More CVS Goodies plus Rite-Aid and Big Lots

These are our CVS items for this week. Total out of pocket was $1.08. I had most of these things on my grocery list for the week. Also, I asked Kevin to run in and pick up a rain-check for 4 Speedstick for $3.99 and receive $3.99. I'll include them in my deal for this week.

Rite-Aid was having several give away items on sale for the week last week. I am trying build up my money orders and gift card totals so that I have very little out of pocket here as well. This was $18 and I'm getting a m.o. for $18 back for this sale and I am still waiting for a $5 Gift Card from last month.

I used my 20% off coupon from Big Lots. I found these two books for $.80 one on planting onions and garlic and the other is about making pillows, both had a retail price of $19.95. The total for this was right at $11. We are saving an enormous amount by just not eating out and when you factor in the CVS and coupons I have been able to stay on budget this month.

My Mom & Dad aka Nane & Grandaddy

Nane and Grandaddy, We Love You
A wonderful thing happened to me, I was given to the most precious, loving parents that ever lived. I don't know why the Lord was so kind to me but I sure do thank Him for His Goodness!

My Precious Daddy

As a little girl I knew I would never leave my parents, when I told them that, they would laugh and say, "One day when you're all grown up you'll change your mind." Guess what, I didn't change my mind and Kevin loves them and their company almost as much as I do.

My Lovely Mother

When Levi was born a couple of weeks ago Gabe looked down at him and said, "Now there's 11 of us". The children feel the same about their grandparents as me and Kevin. The Lord continues His mercy and kindness towards us!

Our Home-Birth Story

William Levi Micajah Powers born December 29, 2007

Our home birth started about 7 years ago when I was expecting Gabe. After 3 hospital births I knew there was a better way. Not knowing any midwives though I was reading books about Unassisted Homebirth, Kevin was not comfortable being responsible for delivering a baby with no help (Huge Understatement). So Gabe was born at the hospital.

Then with Ella a few years later I was even more convinced I wanted to have her at home. By this time we had met or knew of a few people that were having their babies at home but still no midwives in sight and Kevin was still not going to go it alone. So Ellie was born at the hospital (the Lord gave us a wonderful birth but still way too much intervention and aggravation).

With Levi the Lord heard my prayers and at my first visit to the obstetrician he told us that because Emmy and Ivey had been born by C-Section the new insurance policy required that the new baby be delivered by C-Section, never mind that I'd delivered 2 babies naturally before and 2 more after. He told us that he believed that this was 'bad medicine' and that it wasn't a good choice for either baby or mommy but if he did delivery the baby naturally not only would his insurance increase $40,000 per year but all of the other doctors in his practice would also experience the same $40,000 per year increase. He said that he knew of no doctors still doing VBACs in our town or even in Atlanta (about 100 miles from us) and suggested that we find another option.

He knew that I had been wanting to have a homebirth so we understood what he meant. Also, some new friends of ours just about 50 miles away had a homebirth with a midwife so we were very hopeful of finding someone to help us.

We found a lovely, sweet and most importantly Christian lady who has delivered many, many babies. She was such a blessing and so helpful. We saw her once for lunch and then talked to her several times on the phone. We knew then that our Heavenly Father was overseeing this birth and both Kevin and I had a great deal of peace.

I carried Levi longer than any other of our babies and at 38 weeks I finally went into labor. Saturday morning I was on the phone with mom and I was holding Ella and I had a hard contraction. It wasn't particularly different than the other Braxton Hicks I'd been having for the past 2 weeks but there was something about it, so I showered and we recleaned everything. After a couple of hours I was sure this was finally the real thing and Kevin called our midwife. She arrived 1 hour before Levi was born and 4 hours after my phone call with mom. My water never did break until his birth but it was an easy and peaceful birth and Kevin is now convinced that home birth is the very best option.
To God be the Glory

Here is a blog with alot of excellent information on having our babies in our home

CVS Savings

All of this for about $1.30 OOP. I am having so much fun doing this! I was out of commission for a couple of weeks because of our new little blessing. Last week was a great week to get back into things, this week isn't as good but I'm going to do a couple more monthly deals to build my ECB's back up. I'm down to about 14 because I had some almost expire while I was still home-bound. Kevin picked up some Burt's Bees soap for the boys, it was expensive but better than letting the ECB's expire and it sure did help their chapped hands (while it lasted).
Thank you again Crystal for Moneysavingmom.

My First-Born Manchild

I thought that I would introduce you to my darlings one by one so you can place who I am talking about at any given post.
First of course is the first born. I prayed many years ago for a first born manchild. And our gracious Father so blessed us.
Patrick Michael Powers is quickly becoming a mighty man of God. That was the second part of my prayer!
"Mike" is 15 in body but about 80 in wisdom and he never ceases to amaze me with his understanding of things far beyond his years. I started out as his teacher but in many things he has become mine. If anyone out there is on the fence about homeschooling, Mike is a good example for you to jump right in. Have you ever heard Roger Whitaker's "Mighty Like a Rose"? My mother gave that song to Mike as his very own the Christmas that he was born.
He is a delight and I am very thankful before a merciful and loving Lord for such a blessing as my darling "Mikey".
You can take a look at his blog at The Blog of the Irish , you will see that he loves WWII history.
